What happens when a group of American Soccer fanatics decide to drive half way around the planet to attend the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia? 

What discoveries will they stumble upon while pushing through the many barriers that stand between their home and their destination?

With the memory of 2014’s World Cup adventure to Brazil still ripe in his mind, adventure filmmaker Jeremie Brilliant enlists the help of his longtime collaborator Chris Laughter and a group of friends to build out a caravan of live in vehicles for a 6 month long overland journey.

Starting in Los Angeles, they will head north to Alaska and ship their vehicles to China. Upon arrival to Hong Kong in March 2018, they will begin a journey through Asia, Russia, Europe and North America to complete a horizontal lap of the planet while exploring culture through the lens of “soccer”.

*Disclaimer: The USA team did not make it to the 2018 World Cup, and so fundraising for this project took a nose dive and ultimately did not happen. This project was a dream of mine for many years after supporting my dear friend mister Jeremie Brillant's overland adventure to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup. Although it didn't happen in 2018, we are going to try again for 2022 and beyond!

We gave this project all we had and made many great relationships along the way, but when the US men’s national team failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, so too did the opportunity to generate partnerships, get sponsors and raise funding for this project. I learned a lot about being proactive with a pitch rather than reactive with an inquiry on this one and have my fingers crossed for another shot in 2022!
